How To Learn The Basics Of Blogging Today

Would you describe yourself as a total newbie or just a beginner when it comes to starting a blog, building a source for traffic, and getting people to sign up for your email list?

I was where you are just 11 months ago and believe me I am still learning new things every day. In this series, we will be covering a multitude of ways for you to move forward with this new venture. Not just the successes but the all-important fails as well. Everyone loves to read about failure.

This blog is not very old but I have another one that is much older which has 90 odd posts on it, believe me when I say that the first blog didn’t grow anywhere near as fast as this one!!

By the series end, you will be well on your way to becoming the entrepreneur you have always dreamed about being and working from home full-time. Does that get you excited?

This article may contain affiliate links which means I could make a small commission if you purchase anything using one of the links. The price you pay will not be affected. It helps to keep me in coffee when I’m researching and writing these posts for you.

You can find a couple of bonus tips at the end of this article.

The Idea

when you start out with a new blog it is an important idea to write out your goals and what it is you want to achieve in the short and long term.  This helps you to stay on track and can help to hold yourself accountable. Always finish today’s tasks before starting to do the next days.

There are millions of people around the world who want to start a new blog and they are not sure how to get going or many others who have a blog but it is not being read or shared. We all need to learn a new skill set to get this going.

If you can start off with a series of How To’s your blog will grow exponentially. That is something I learned and have put into practice with this successful blog.

Your-Ideas-Matter

Don’t Be Afraid To Contact Me

I love hearing from you all so if you do have questions along the way don’t be afraid to contact me.

There are a ton of technical issues we need to get our heads around. I’m letting you into a secret here, this is not my specialty but there are many people who help me and can help you too.

Techie things that can be covered are Hosting, Niches, Themes, WordPress setup options, email marketing, and paid or free resources to name just a few.

Email Responders

joining an email list is a great way of learning from experienced bloggers, they want to know what you are struggling with. Why? they can write content that can cover many people’s questions all in one go. You are also helping the blogger to come up with new content Ideas so a bit of giving and taking going on.

A couple of great autoresponders to use on your blog are Aweber or Convertkit. It is very imperative that you make proper checks on autoresponders before signing up. This will be hugely dependant on your niche. There are certain types of autoresponder that don’t like you making money in certain ways.

About Me

I’m Lisa, that’s me in the photo above I am a mum of 4 grown-up daughters and 3 grandchildren One boy the youngest and 2 girls. My poor hubby is surrounded by women when we all get together 🙂

My drink of choice is Coffee, being English you would think it should be tea and it was until I was 27 now I can’t touch it.

When it comes to leisure time watching any series about cops, navy seals or the army is what floats my boat. What if anything do you like to watch? leave an answer in the comments.

I love affiliate marketing and working from home blogging if I could talk about these topics at every conversation I would be a very happy lady. Unfortunately, those around me may not be!!

Do I have any experience to offer You?

Well, I have failed miserably with a blog so I feel I’m able to share with you where it all went wrong and the ways things are different now. For example, how much quicker this particular blog has grown in a very short period of time.

Failing didn’t stop me and it shouldn’t stop you either. Failure is a massive learning curve that we can overcome with persistence.

  2. Haha thanks for the article my guy! Ya know, to be completely honest with you, I actually found this article really helpful. I’m a beginner blogger myself (I’ve been doing this for about three months), so I can use all the tips I can get. I’d like to think I got this down, but everyone makes mistakes now and then.
