Is It Possible To Find A Low Competition Niche For Blogging?

Hello, my friend, and a very warm welcome back. One of the very first things a new blogger decides upon is which niche topic they are going to write about.

This post is going to look at whether It Is Possible To Find A Low Competition Niche.

Blogging is big business and has been for many years, but I bet you will be surprised to know the figures for 2021!

At the time of writing this post, the figures quoted are more than 600 million blogs in existence out of 1.9 billion websites in the world.

Their authors account for over 6 million blog posts daily, or over 2.5 billion annually.

Many new bloggers would look at those figures and decide not to start one!

However, the amount of internet users means there is enough traffic to go around.

So don’t delay start a blog today!

Some low-competition blog niches include personal finance, parenting, travel, health & wellness, home brewing, photography, sustainable living, vegan cooking, pet care, and minimalism.

Each of these has much growth potential and tons of research can be carried out so the subject can be written about for many years.

This post may contain affiliate links. This means if you click a link and make a purchase I will receive a commission. The price you pay will not be affected.

Now let us look at Low Competition Niches. Is It Possible to find any?

Absolutely! It is definitely possible to find a low-competition niche for blogging.

There are plenty of ways to narrow your search.

One way is to use keyword research tools to identify topics with low search volume and competition.

You can also look at topics that have been underserved or neglected by other bloggers.

Additionally, you could focus on specific regional topics or narrow niches that have a devoted following.

With a bit of research, you can easily find a low-competition niche that you can blog about.

What Is A Low Competition Niche?

Search volume is what defines the competition of a niche, the lower the search number the lower the competition.

You most likely think that all of the best subjects have been snapped up already, but that could not be further from the truth!

I would be lying if I said it has not become harder as time has gone on but it is definitely not a lost cause.

This blog was started in December 2020 and it gets a lot of traffic already and also makes money!

Our aim is to look into low-competition niches with high search volumes and profitability.

This means your niche could attract a lot of visitors but not have a lot of bloggers vying for the same type of audience.

How Can We Find Low Competition Niches?

Finding blog niches with low competition can be a great way to get your blog off the ground and start getting readers.

Here are some tips for finding low-competition blog niches:

  • Brainstorm topics that interest you. Think about topics you have a lot of knowledge of, or that you have a passion for. This will help you find a niche that you can talk about with ease and enthusiasm.
  • Research keywords that are related to the topics you brainstormed. Use a keyword research tool, such as Google Keyword Planner, to determine which keywords have low competition.
  • Look for niches where there is a need. Try to find out what topics people are searching for and find out if there are any gaps in the content that is already available.
  • Check out forums and other communities related to your niche. These can be great sources of information and can help you gain an insight into the competition.
  • Monitor your niche for changes. Make sure that you stay up-to-date with any changes in the niche and adjust your content accordingly.

However, if you need more precise readings than Google provides with its high ranges you could use another tool called Jaxxy Enterprise which provides information in minute detail.

I have so much more scope for different result criteria like the average amount of searches, the traffic each month, the amount of competition, and the SEO score these will help you in narrowing down keywords and niches.

A Low Competition Niche Example

A very broad niche subject can be very competitive, however, if you narrow the niche down into different subcategories also known as micro-niches then it becomes lower in competition.

For Example, You could have Cryptocurrency as the high competition main niche but then you can narrow that down to:

  • How to purchase Bitcoin
  • How to Use a Crypto wallet for Bitcoin
  • How to Sell Bitcoin etc.

Another Example Could be Skincare as the main niche and that can be niched down into the subcategory of:

  • Skincare products for men
  • Skincare products for women
  • Skincare products for children
  • Skincare items for babies etc

These are two very popular niches for blogging in 2021.

Applying this technique means you can earn an income much easier than if you stick to the main broader topic.

High-Volume Low Competition Niche Examples

Dieting & health and wellness/fitness as you can imagine are some of the most searched terms the world over and this became even more prominent during the pandemic when people were unable to leave home and exercise.

We can carry out searches for high-volume traffic with low-competition keywords as stated previously on Google or by utilizing a specific tool like Jaxxy.

Other examples can include:

DIY For Beginners

DIY for Experts

Refurbishing Homes

Using solar power for eco-friendly properties

Family Holidays can be niched down to include the different cities of the world Or beach holidays, or camping trails in America, or the best places to hike in Tenerife.

Now the world is beginning to open up again en mass Foreign travel will again become a hugely profitable niche with low competition if researched effectively and it can be a never-ending topic!

What Is The Best Niche For A Beginner Blogger?

The answer to this question all comes down to the individual blogger.

Every niche has its own audience that is searching for answers, products, advice, and in many cases all of those.

Any of the niches above would qualify if they are a passion of yours.

Important considerations to think about can include not concentrating too much on trending topics as they can be here today and gone again in a week.

Make sure your writing is your own and not copied from other websites.

Also, think about what you will enjoy researching and writing about for years to come because if you lack real passion for the subject then you will have difficulty with sustainability.

Many blogs become abandoned and desolate every day because the owners get bored of writing for them. Don’t fall into this trap!

Conclusion

One of the biggest mistakes many new bloggers make is concentrating on the wrong area of the blog, I’m sure you know what I’m going to say don’t you? Yes! ” The making of money”. Choosing a niche on that basis is a big mistake and a shortsighted one.

Blogging takes over your life, you eat it, sleep it, and breathe it, especially in the first 12 months.

The more you grow it in that period of time the more sustainability it will have for you in the future.

I started blogging in March 2020 and made the mistake of choosing the wrong niche.

It was not a total disaster because it taught me a lot, it made money from affiliate marketing and I managed to sell it as well.

Then this blog was born in December of 2020 which is much more suited to my passions as well as my writing style.

Although a blog is not written about you it does have to be written by you!

Writing this blog is an absolute joy and never seems like work, I cannot say the same about the previous blog after the initial newness wore off.

Investing in yourself is never a waste of time or money!
