Let’s now take a look at the easiest way to verify WordPress blogs on Pinterest.
WordPress Site Verification on Pinterest
Before we begin, you will need to change your Pinterest profile to a business account.
This will give you access to all the Pro tools, including analytics and ads programs. It is easy and free to create a Pinterest business account.
Ready, let’s get started.
Step 1
Log in to your Pinterest account. Next, click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the screen. Select the Unlock Business Tools tab.
The next screen will display a list with all the features that your business account can offer. To unlock these features, select the Switch to the Business button.
- Create your profile
Enter your account details, such as a profile name and URL, country, language, and website URL. After you’ve entered all the details, click on the “Next” button.
- Description of Your Business
Pinterest will now ask for the description of your business. Select an industry from the dropdown menu, and choose 3 goals from the options. Click the “Next” button.
- Get personalized recommendations
Select an option to receive personalized recommendations, and then click the “Next” button.
Now, choose whether you want to advertise on Pinterest or not. Then click the ‘Next button. You may choose the “No, I’m not planning to advertise” option if you didn’t intend to advertise on the network.
Pinterest will then show you several options to get your business account up and running. To skip this section, you can click the “cross” icon at the top right.
Step 2
Next, verify your domain on Pinterest.
You can do this by clicking the Verify domain button from your Pinterest Business Hub page. This will take you directly to the Verification Settings page.
To verify your WordPress site, simply click the down arrow at the top right and choose the “Settings” option. Next, go to the Verification section of the left menu.
Click the Verify button for Websites to get credit for your Pinterest content.
After clicking the button, you will see a popup window with three options for verifying your WordPress website.
Select the method you prefer to verify with
Because it is the easiest, I chose the “Add HTML tag” option.
You can also download the HTML file to your WordPress hosting folder manager or FTP client.
Alternatively, you can add verification to your domain settings by using your domain registry.
Step 3
There are many ways to add an HTML code to your website’s header. I will only address the easiest.
You can first use the All in One SEO plugin. This is the best WordPress SEO plugin that makes it easy to optimize your site for search engines, without having to hire an expert.
I recommend the Pro version but you can also use AIO SEO for free to add Pinterest verification.
Go to All in One SEO >> General Settings and click the “Webmaster Tools” tab.
Next, click on the ‘Pinterest site verification block.
Copy-paste the HTML tag in step 1 in the Pinterest Site Verification box and click the “Save Changes” button.
Enter Pinterest Verification Code
Rather than using AIO SEO, you can also add the HTML tag by activating the Insert Headers or Footers plugin.
Once you’ve completed activation, move to Settings >> Insert Headers & Footers in your WordPress admin area. You will need to copy the HTML tag into the Scripts in the Header section and then click the Save button.
Insert HTML tag in the header script section
Copy-paste the HTML tag in your website’s header section, and then return to the Pinterest screen and click the Continue button in that popup.
The next step is to enter your URL and click the “Verify” button.
- In progress verification
After you click that, you’ll see a message stating “Verification in Progress”. You’ll also receive an email regarding your website’s verification.
This is it! Your WordPress website has been verified on Pinterest.
Tip: If Pinterest does not verify you after you have added the verification code to your WordPress account, you will need to clear your WordPress cache.
Social Media
Pinterest is an invaluable marketing tool that creators and small businesses can use for free.
According to Hootsuite, Pinterest has over 400 million monthly visitors and reaches an astounding 83 per cent of the U.S. females between 25 and 54 years old.
You should use Pinterest if this is your target audience.
You will need to verify your website via Pinterest in order to make the most out of this social media platform.
Benefits of Claiming Your Pinterest Website
Analytics will be available to show you how your pins perform.
Pinterest Analytics provides insights into your most popular Pinterest content, including impressions, engagements, and other statistics.
This data will help you improve and refine your website strategy.
You can also verify your website via Pinterest.
Your Pinterest account will be automatically credited for any Pins made from your website.
This means that if someone pins one of your website’s photos, it will link to your Pinterest account.
This is a huge benefit as it will draw more attention to your site and increase traffic.
