Are You A Struggling Affiliate Marketer? 5 Tips To Help You

Hello, my friend and a very warm welcome back. Are you a struggling Affiliate Marketer?

If You answered Yes I Have 5 Tips To Help You to stop the struggle!

1. Set The Correct Type Of Goals.

2. Write For The Niche You Know Most About.

3. Select The Best Training.

4. Set A Realistic Schedule

5. Know Your Why

Now we have the answers we are going to cover everything in detail.

It’s been a good few months since I updated you on my progress. This blog is now 8 months old and the traffic is starting to grow! Yay.

Money is also making a more regular appearance from affiliate sales. But I bet everything is going much slower than you thought it would?

I started my first blog 2 years ago and had very high hopes for it. There were so many up and downs I often felt seasick!

Finally giving it up was a hard decision. But it turned out for the best because this blog was born!

This niche is far more suitable to my writing style and that certainly makes it easier to keep going through the tough beginning months!

Making my first commission had me jumping up and down like a lunatic.

There really is no feeling like it and you will always remember the amount!

That’s what you need to remember when you want to throw your laptop out of a very high window.

Don’t even ask about the self-doubt, yes we all go through it.

You are not alone!

By reading this you will see yourself on your journey to the success you know is waiting for you.

Set-Goals

1. Set The Correct Type Of Goals

Setting a goal does not mean writing down that you want to make 10K a month.

I want to fire my boss in 12 months etc.

Now don’t get me wrong here I set goals like that at the beginning of the journey and when I didn’t reach them I felt I had failed.

What did I change?

Setting goals that were achievable thus making me take action to get to the end game.

Goal 1. Write a blog post every day that is a minimum of 1,000 words.

Goal 2. Reach 400 posts in the first year.

Goal 3. Find the right affiliate programs for my Niche.

Now I can hear you shouting at the computer there is no way you can write a post every day!

Remember I am full-time and my goals are just examples for you.

If you can only write 2 posts a week then make that your goal!

Goal 2 is a real tough one.

There are days when I don’t want to write a single word.

When this happens I cram 2 review posts into my day to make up the total.

Setting goals like these will keep you in the driving seat and totally in control.

This post may contain affiliate links. This means if you click a link and make a purchase I will receive a commission. The price you pay will not be affected.

 2. Write For The Niche You Know Most About

Your chosen niche is going to be for a lot of years. You must remember that when making a decision.

New bloggers often choose wrongly because they are concentrating on subjects they feel will make them the most money.

Some choose the health niche because they see gym equipment starting at $1,000 per item. But they know nothing about the subject.

That is the worst reason to choose a niche.

You will soon get fed up with the subject that you will quit as I did with the first blog!

I freely admit I got it totally wrong! However, the website got sold so it turned out okay.

Choosing this niche was based on a ton of research on different types of blog posts that could be written for it over the long term.

Subjects that are easy to write for make it feel like a pleasure not like work at all!

At the end of the day, the money will come if people like your well-researched posts.

 3. Select The Best Training

Are you jumping from platform to platform trying to learn everything at a million miles an hour?

Watching how-to videos on Youtube and reading posts on Pinterest?

Been there done that. Found out it doesn’t work!

New affiliates all fall into this in the beginning and it can be hard to get out of.

My big break came when I watched a webinar for Wealthy Affiliate back in 2019.

The shocking thing when I discovered them was that they had been around since 2005 and they are always growing in popularity.

Working my way through the training modules helped to keep me on track with actionable steps at the end of each module.

They have a very simple philosophy:

  • Choose an interest
  • Build a website
  • Attract visitors
  • Earn revenue

Going through the training can be a little overwhelming for some. My advice is to stay on that module until you fully understand it.

Helping to keep you on track is the multicultural community that support you fully from the get-go!

You can talk to people in the live chat for instant advice!

Wealthy Affiliate is not the only course of action available to you there are many others. Whichever choice you make promise yourself to stay the course.

Getting the right training will take you to your goal in a much quicker amount of time.

 4. Set A Realistic Schedule

What does that mean?

Running a business is not the same as blogging as a hobby.

You really have to set aside time to work on your business and that is a must if you wish to succeed!

If you only have 30 minutes in a day to write set a timer and write for every second of those 30 minutes.

I’m telling you that you will be astonished at just how much you can get done.

Obviously the more you do it the quicker you will become.

When I started my first blog I still had a full-time job. But I spent every spare minute in the evenings and on the weekends writing posts.

I was tired and often wanted to be going out with my friends for a nice meal or watching my favourite TV series, but I said I would take a minimum of 1 hour a day to work and I stuck to it religiously.

Fast forward to today and the results are coming in thick and fast.

There are 2 Things that help me to be consistent:

1. I like to write listening to the radio so that is set up when I’m ready to start work.

2. Having a set place to write. In the beginning, this was done at the dining room table on a wooden chair.

Now I have a nice comfy swivel chair and my own desk!

Know Your Why

5. Know Your Why

Everyone feels like quitting after a few months of little to no results and knowing your why will enable you to keep going.

My personal reasons why:

  • I hated my full-time call centre job.
  • Travelling is a big part of my life and more of it needed to be accomplished.
  • Not ever fearing for my job safety.

When the going gets tough and it will at some point reminding yourself of your why will pick you up and keep you on the right track!

I have a cruise itinerary that I’m saving up for stuck to the side of my laptop at the time of writing this.

Another thing I often do to keep myself motivated is read other peoples success stories.

Keep remembering why you started this journey!

Bonus Tip

The biggest reason people fail is that they quit just as they are about to hit the good times.

Everything takes time to build so make sure you give yourself time to build your business.

The general consensuses of opinion are it takes the search engines 6 months to start ranking your posts and that’s a long time to work for free.

Knowing facts like that at the beginning will tell you if affiliate marketing is really for you or not?

If you decide it is then dig your heels in and keep going no matter what.

That is what is going to separate you from the 95 % that fail.

Don’t ever quit just take a little break and get back to it.

success principles

Having the right mindset and Posting consistently will see you break through the barriers that are holding you back.

In the beginning, I felt very guilty about taking a day off and for 6 months solid I did not have one.

Now when I have had enough I turn my laptop off and go for a swim, spend time with my grandchildren or go for a walk with my husband.

You will make it if you follow these simple tips and know that everyone else on this journey is having the exact same doubts and frustrations as you!
