7 Tips On How To Have More Confidence When Writing Blogs

Hello, and a very warm welcome back. Confidence can be a really big problem when you are a new blogger. Do you suffer from not being able to publish your posts? If you do then you have come to the right posts to help you out!

I’m going to cover 7 Tips On How To Have More Confidence When Writing Blogs.

There is nothing more frightening than being paralysed by fear that is caused totally by low self-esteem and no confidence.

A good way to move forward is to stop comparing yourself and your work to others who are much further along in their journey. Always remember they started out the same way as you!

To be confident with blogging you must first understand that it is a long road to travel down, it does not happen, in a week, a month, or in some cases a year.

You will become the most patient person you know if you don’t quit.

Let’s dive in and go through the tips that are going to increase your confidence.

Stop Asking Yourself These Questions?

Is anyone going to read my blog post?

What if my writing is not good enough?

Will writing posts work for me?

Does anyone want to read about this topic?

Asking yourself all of these questions will not enhance your confidence they will only make it worse.

As long as you research your posts and answer questions that are being sought by visitors to the search engines then people will read your work at some point.

Not every great published novelist gets it right with every book, some of them do fail it is a process and we get better when we get up after a fall and keep going.

The trick is to not let your confidence get to a rock bottom status just grit your teeth and tell yourself you can do it. Because you can!

Celebrate No Matter How Small The Victory Is

If you wait for a sponsored post or even an invitation to do a guest post you will be selling yourself short.

Regardless of what the victory is, always celebrate it and pat yourself on the back no matter how small it is.

I got a very small commission today from an affiliate program it was only $8.00 but I have been grinning from ear to ear all day.

Last week there was a spike in my traffic it went up by double and it seems to be holding. I took my husband out to dinner to celebrate.

Traffic Spike mistakesbloggersmake

You just got your first comment on your blog post your confidence soared because you are doing it and it is working 🙂

Don’t Take Bad Comments Personally

If you are successful you will get bad comments they are guaranteed to happen but don’t take them personally.

So what some random person say’s your writing is rubbish! first, you get angry and want to delete the comment but, don’t do that instead come back to it an hour later when you have calmed down.

Now look at it rationally, think to yourself are they jealous or just seeking attention? Attention in comments can be a great rank booster for Google so use it to your advantage and write a carefully worded reply.

I guarantee others will join in and a nice conversation will ensue.

Another thing to think is that you cannot write for everyone and please them all and it would be wrong of you to try.

One bad comment does not equal bad writing. Take confidence from the good comments!

Post-It Notes As Visual Reminders

How far have you come since you started blogging? Do you have anything that is visual to remind you?

From day 0 to 10 months later I’m surrounded by visual reminders in many forms.

Pinterest pins that were terrible in the beginning look good now and get repinned!

Printed out emails that contain payments from satisfied clients as well as testimonials.

I’m a lover of positive affirmations and there are many in my workspace.

Every one of these things is a big confidence booster, just remember to look at them regularly!

Make Sure You Push Yourself

It has often been said that success doesn’t come from being in your comfort zone. You have to push yourself because nobody else can do it for you!

Do everything in bite-size steps and you will find it easier to cope with.

I set up a Youtube channel a few years ago and I was terrified of getting on the camera, one day when I was home alone I wrote down what I wanted to say picked up my phone and made a video.

It turned out that I loved it and carried on doing it for months.

When I’m writing I think about making a video in that I pretended I had no audience and it was all done just for me and it worked remarkably well!

My advice is to not tell yourself you can’t do it but to trust yourself enough that you can do it and take that leap of faith.

Read Blogs And Books On Personal Growth

My favourite Blog website I like to visit.

Positivity Blog. Has millions of different quotes that will make everyone feel confident.

Years before I became a blogger I read an incredible book that totally changed the way I thought and therefore changed my life for the better.

I bet you have heard of it? It’s called Think And Grow Rich and it’s by Napolean Hill.

Another one that opened my eyes is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.

These books changed my perspective and made me into a more confident person. I hope they work for you if you read them!

Be Careful Of What You Say To Yourself

Have you heard the saying ” You Are What You Think”?

This is so true in my opinion. I used to be a negative thinker and so many negative things came my way. However, my mindset changed into that of a positive thinker and then positive things became a regular occurrence.

If you keep telling yourself your work is crap it will be crap because you don’t put the required amount of motivation into your work!

On the other hand, when you tell yourself you can do this your work will have a whole new light of positivity shining from it!

Go on give it a try it will boost your confidence immensely!

Keep Your Eyes On The Prizes

Having a why is going to be your biggest and best motivation ever!

You are going to have goals that you wish to get to. Set them up from day one and keep them in the forefront of your mind. These will give the added confidence to continue when you get a rejection of some kind.

I want a specific car and there is a picture of it as my screensaver so it reminds me every day why I’m doing this.

What do you have a picture of that is your prize?

You need to have the confidence to keep going because there will be tough times ahead that is inevitable, the more you write and publish the more your confidence will grow!

Conclusion

Did you know that just the act of blogging can really boost your self-esteem?

Until recently neither did I!

After reading a post on it, it did make sense when you are pouring your heart out to somebody it does feel good and writing a blog is no different so be confident and just get on and do it!

Nothing is ever perfect so get it written and published.

  1. Thank you for posting this! I’ve been struggling with my confidence while trying to get my own blog off the ground. I’ve been feeling crazy for celebrating for crossing small victories like 100 views or getting comments on posts. But it was really reassuring reading about some of the things in this post!

    • You are very welcome. I struggle a bit with my confidence and it is good to share tips with others so they know they are not alone. It doesn’t matter how small the victory is you should definitely celebrate it. Blogging is a long process and it takes a lot of work.
I congratulate you for keeping going Rain.

  2. I think it’s really important to “just keep writing”. Not everything you write is going to be a contender for a literary award – but some of them will be 100% genius – and even the ones which AREN’T 100% will say something to the just the right person who needs to hear those words right now. ?

    • I totally 100% agree with that Alex. Writing is king and it is the most important aspect of your website to concentrate on.
Some will rank on page 1 and some will be on page 5 but as long as you answer peoples questions then your confidence will soar.
      Have a great week Alex.

  3. These are great tips! I especially love the one about the post-it notes for visual reminders! It’s so easy to get down on yourself so having ever-present reminders, and in such colourful ways, is such a great idea!
