3 Simple Ways To Bring Passive Incomes To Your Blog

Hello and a very warm welcome back. Today we are going to cover 3 Simple Ways Of Bringing Passive Incomes To Your Blog.

Earning a passive income is something we all yearn to do when working online. It is the ultimate goal to achieve.

Receiving this income means that you are sharing valuable content and getting traffic that is paying you.

A passive income is a payment that you get paid even when you are not working. You can write a blog post, make a Youtube video, or make your own products.

If I stop writing on my blog the search engines will still send traffic to it and I will still receive a passive income at a slower rate than when I’m actively writing.

Passive income can take a while to achieve and for most niches, it happens between the 6 and 9-month mark.

Some are lucky and can get it in the first month like me and others may have to wait until the 12-month point.

Let’s dive in and cover the 3 simple ways this can be achieved:

This post may contain affiliate links. This means if you click through and make a purchase I will receive a commission.

The price you pay will not be affected.

The First Passive Income Stream Is Blogging Ads

The first income stream I’m going to share with you is the most popular one for new bloggers and that’s ads on your blog.

As long as you are driving traffic to your posts you can make a small income from ads at the start of your blogs life.

Before your blog gets to the 6-month mark, the best way to attain traffic is through sharing posts on Social Media.

I don’t have any ads running on this blog but, I did on my health and wellness blog once my views got to the 10,000 visitors mark.

You need to have a self-hosted blog in order to run ads and my recommendation Is an all-in-one platform that has fast speed hosting and is also a training university for bloggers and affiliate marketers.

It’s free to join and only $49 a month to upgrade to the premium membership.

As I alluded to above send traffic from social media sources, My highest traffic comes from Pinterest and accounts for 70% of it.

There are several different ad networks to choose from and one thing they have in common is a minimal amount of views per month.

1. Google is the lowest amount of views required to join and the lowest payments

2. Mediavine is in the middle

3. And AdThrive is the highest.

You can make from a hundred dollars a month to a couple of thousand dollars obviously based on the amount of traffic coming to your website.

The Second Passive Income Stream Is From Your Own Products

Making your own products can be the biggest passive income stream of all because you set the prices based on the value provided and you get to keep all of it.

There are just so many products that you can make that you will be spoilt for choice and in the main, they don’t cost much money to produce.

You could stand to make between 90 to 95 % pure profit and you only have to make it once and then replicate it.

Sales can be slow to start off with but they can soon overtake any other method you are using.

If you were selling a product for $50 and you sell 10 a month that’s $500. If you sell 100 that’s $5k a month. It soon adds up.

One of the best ways to sell products is to your captive audience on your email list. They tend to be the most responsive.

Another way is to have an Etsy shop or sell on Amazon depending on what the actual product is.

A massive plus for your own products is that you can create as many or as few as you wish.

Affiliate marketing and ads are dependants on your visitor traffic but your own products are not restricted in this way

The Third Passive Income Is Youtube Ads

I know not everyone has a Youtube channel but it is something you should plan for down the line as another stream of income.

Many blogs that have videos contained have a far lower bounce rate and that makes them rank higher with the search engines.

With Youtube, it generally takes between 9 to 12 months to get monetized. This is achieved through the partner program and you can run ads from Google Adsense.

These ads on Youtube are traffic dependant the more views you get the more you get paid.

Youtube ads can be more lucrative than blog ads because Youtube is a search engine and that sends the traffic to your videos based on keyword research.

You need more of an investment for youtube as opposed to the other 2 methods because you will need more equipment:

1. A good Camera

2. A Tripod and

3. A Microphone

These items can range in price but you should be able to get away with around $750 total.

One word of warning though do not invest in these items straight away because you may not like using Youtube.

Everyone I know who has a channel started out by using their smartphone.

Once you have an income then think about the equipment needed to keep it going in a more professional manner.

Why Choose YouTube Ads?

You make a video once and as long as people watch it you will get paid passively every month.

All of your older videos will still be monetized.

In a way, it’s like a blog income no matter how long ago you produced it, it can still earn you money even if you stop for a month or 2.

With Youtube, you will get the best of both worlds.

You can use all of your blog posts and make them into a short Youtube video and add it to the relevant blog for people who prefer to watch instead of reading.

That way it’s also possible to get paid twice the passive income. Win, Win!

My Final Thoughts

Out of the three methods I have covered there is no right or wrong way to go. It is totally dependant on what you feel comfortable doing.

There is, however, something that you need to take into consideration whichever method you choose will take time and dedication to build from the ground up.

Any method you use needs traffic of some description and unless you pay for traffic it is not going to happen overnight!

  1. Thank you so much for all of these tips, my blog is brand new so right now I am just working on building up traffic at all. I love the idea of using youtube though to have a lower bounce rate and get youtube ads which I did not know are more lucrative. Great post!

  2. I know how you feel but it does get better. It’s like everything it takes time.
The way I deal with it is to not expect to make money for 9-12 months and If it
Happens before then it’s a bonus!
